I'm the other Sam.

I have broadband now. My broadband connection is DSL supplied by my
ISP, which also owns the telephone company. I can do DSL with one
computer and simultaneously do dialup with another computer. In
Shenandoah County, Virginia, the largest county in the state, Shentel
has a monopoly here on local dialup access and also they have a monopoly
here on DSL service.

The computer I am using now is a dual boot Window$ XP and Linux Ubunto.
I don't hardly ever use the XP part anymore.

It is a very nice computer, a Pentium IV, 2.8 Ghz, 512 MB ram. I found
it at the county landfill. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it
when found except for its lacking a hard drive. It has a perfectly
functioning CD-RW drive and also a perfectly good DVD drive and a floppy
drive. I bought a used hard drive and an unused Window$ XP OEM disk for
it cheap and I installed Window$ XP and Linux on it.

I also have several DOS-only computers. I would like to get them to
work with my DSL so that I could do Arachne by broadband.

Can anyone here please refer me to a "how-to"?

Sam Heywood

P.S. Also, can anyone here tell me why all the messages I am currently
receiving from the Arachne Mailing List are marked as [SPAM]?
