Arachne works strictly the other way around. She can connect to HTTP servers, FTP servers, pop3 servers, SMTP servers, finger servers & gopher servers. In-order for Arachne to connect to the XP machine, you would need to be running one of those types of servers. In-order for the XP machine to connect to the other machine, you must be running 1 of 2 items on that machine. 1) the windows 'networked drives' setup 2) a server of some type (HTTP, FTP, pop3, smtp, finger or gopher) #1 is how your WinXP machine and your Win98 machine are connecting to each other. #2 is what Greg Mayman is working on doing. The DOS machine will have a server running. the WinXP machine will have a client running. The client on the WinXP machine will the be able to connect to the server on the DOS machine. -- Glenn http://www.delorie.com/listserv/mime/ http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/doc/msdog.html http://www.glennmcc.org/ http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.table.html Arachne at FreeLists -- Arachne, The Premier GPL Web Browser/Suite for DOS --
