The realtek 8139 is a generic chip used in many cards, probably even a SMC
one. You choose from the list a card that used that chip.

Why would you use the packet driver. You are to use the NDIS driver which
from your choice is smcmac.dos. You can not use both at the same time.

Send copy of protocol.ini, it needs to be modified either by install
program or manually. It will reference the smcmac.dos or similar file.
The dos packet driver is for accessing via wattcp. NDIS is for access via
Netbios or whatever Windoze now calls it. Netbios is a transfer protocol
for Peer transfers between computers on the same lan. Not internet, your
local network. This is what Greg M wants to do. You would also need Win98
to have the same protocol installed. Netbeui I believe, perhaps someone
else could confirm.
