I'm still using 1.70r3. Also MS-DOS 6.22 with disk cache (set up
years ago as per advice from Clarence Verge) I try to wait to
shutdown until after I'm at the DOS prompt for awhile. But it's
possible that I jump the gun and power down before everything gets
written to the harddrive.
I'll try that on purpose and see if I get a crash.
As I hope I made clear this only happens occasionally. I'm sure it's
some quirk of my system. However there was a "lost cluster"
problem years ago that drove people bonky.
My problem is no big deal at all because I can restore working
ordr by running SCANDISK.
