Wow. Are you behind the times. ;-)
These days DSL can be up to FIVE mbps (yes, that's right... over 3x the
speed of a T1). I'm not sure what's available on business class cable in
urban areas, but I know I routinely get about 3.5 mbps on no-frills
residential cable service out in the middle of nowhere.
