Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club! > The U.S. produces most of the world's spam. Those who > run botnets are paid between 1cent and 10cents for each > zombie they control. A zombie in the U.S. brings 8-10 > cents for each zombie, while a zombie in China is worth > only 1-2cents. Canadian zombies are second in worth only > to U.S. zombies. American and Canadian zombies are usually > much higherend machines than those of other countries, and > more likely to be using broadband. The problem with those numbers is that they mostly deal with email Spam. Web forum Spam has unfortunately become ever more a problem since ways to counter email Spam have been devised. Also, web forum Spam is reported less often because it is seen as a problem of the webmasters, but also since no ways exist to report it. Try to find an address where you can report abuse, and most of the time you find a form to forward a Spam email, but nothing to report Spam in a forum. I think not even the anti-Spam laws deal with this form of Spam. :-/ Regards, Udo -- The DR-DOS/OpenDOS Enhancement Project - http://www.drdosprojects.de -- This mail was written by a user of The Arachne Browser - http://arachne.cz/ Arachne at FreeLists -- Arachne, The Premier GPL Web Browser/Suite for DOS --
