IMO it is not reasonable to expect a new user to know how to do that.

We have installation Wizards. Isn't this the kind of thing they are
supposed to handle?

Perhaps the option of selecting another directory name should be dropped
from the installer. Then if the experienced user wants to move it to
another directory, he can do it under DOS and edit the CFG files at the
same time.
