I have an .asf that I've used for speed testing for serveral years,
and it reports my core being 40% faster than std. However, different
operations have different results, and a different set of calls inside
the .asf would no doubt produce a different figure. Also, every
machine is different, and it's a bit tricky to get the arachne.cfg
for both versions doing about the same thing so that the comparison
is fair. The above is for rendering pages, download speed is only a tiny
bit better but the speed of the modem seems to be the limiting factor
regardless. However, I think it's fair to say that my core is indeed
about 40% faster at rendering pages.

As to memory, my core gives me 230K free, however, it has
no 'red zone' which means that *all* of that can be used with no problem.
In other words, my core will run fine with 1K of free memory, which is
to say that you could load 229K of drivers into conventional memory
and still run my distro.
