that is the idea behind the DPMI port - modern PCs have lots of XMS
memory, but the precious Conventional Memory stays at 640K, so it is a
logical step to make Arachne use XMS mem instead.

Its status is "alpha" because it is having inexplicable problems on some
machines, and it is rather slow.

Well, the interest in the DPMI version has been very low; there have
been only 445 downloads of it to the present day, and I got very little
feedback.

I guess it is only natural that when other things took precedence in my
life and my spare time dwindled, DPMI Arachne was the first victim.
