The solution is near: Squeeze your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT. You might=

remove MSCDEX from your autoexec and get a replacement named MSHSUCDX v2.=

You might use a memory hungry mousedriver in autoexec. 
Get a replacement named CuteMouse from above mentioned site.

I 've one problem with arachne.
If I load it plain from dos, it works but Internet is not accessible,
because the drivers it has do not work with my NETGEAR fa312 card
If I load it from bart's network 
|isk, the driver is installed but it says
not enough memory , 22K needed!

Any options/help to find a working driver for my ethernet card?
