I simply do not like having to edit a file to reactivate a feature every
time I download a new version of Arachne. If a feature is to be disabled
or enabled this should be done through a menu option.

IMO, that is what they should remain - alternate versions.

Well, then there is no need to change it because so far, there has been
only one customer who does not like it. Besides, I do not see why a
feature that every other browser has should be disabled by default.

When a feature is disabled by default, chances are that no one will ever
find it unless he is told about it. We already have that super-duper
e-dress thingy that is disabled by default, and if nobody would have
told me how to reactivate it, I would still think that Glenn had deleted
it. :-/
