I agree. The listing he has sent of XEDIT.BAT and the other batchfile
that loads his editor both look to be needlessly complicated.

Personnally I have found that a simple command as in the default
XEDIT.BAT is all that is necessary with most editors. If his editor-
of-choice needs something more complicated, perhaps he should consider
using an alternate editor for this particular task.

I wonder what it is that he prefers in his external editor over other
editors....

So do I, most of the time.

The only quibble I have with it is that its wordwrap does not work in
the way I would like when editing in the middle of a line, not has it
any simple way to wrap lines after they have overflowed the right margin.

Other than that it is fine!
