[arachne] Re: OWNERSHIP OF PCDOS7-2000

Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club!

I googled Lenovo PC DOS, and the majority of the 1st 30 results pointed to
either 3yr old reviews, or...IBM web sites. Nothing new since PC DOS 2000. It
is mentioned as part of "rescue disk" for ThinkPad/ThinkCentre. With Lenovo
being an "international" consortium with headquarters in China, it is possible
IBM has a stake in their business. I don't know exact since I don't have time
to investigate the disclosures, but on the surface it appears to be so. One
google hit mentioned "purchasing PC DOS license" for...are you ready for this...
$1000 US dollars! If that's true, forget that! I'll stick with MS DOS 6.22
and 7!
Those I already have, one via an old PC, the other with my Win95.
And people think MS overcharges for Windows!

Wiz,

No sense wading thru a huge site, looking for a needle in a haystack.

Google "Lenovo PC-DOS" and you'll find all sorts of interesting stuff.
Drivers. Downloads. Official manuals. I don't know what all is there.
Tons of stuff. Check it out.
