Boy am I glad the laptop I finished working on isn't going to be online for awhile. I spent 19 (nineteen, not a typo) nonstop hours starting with CC clean, Malware tool, etc etc etc etc ... had to do 99% of it in safe mode to have any control at all. No, *not* my computer. A true Trojan Horse (2 root kits, 200+ miscellaneous trojans, adwares, take over software to turn system into server, etc etc "gift" from a normally stingy mother to her hard working daughter and trying-now-for-As teenaged granddaughter. A gift like that isn't a gift. I removed most of grandma's programs, most of the MS programs, cleaned and used the "belt, suspenders, superglue and duct tape approach and finally got it clean enough to turn system restore back on. It still has one glitch (non-fatal, just a nuisance) and the touch pad has a short so they'll have to learn to be careful where they rest the cursor ... but the system is now usable for the first time since they got it. I hope they can get some good use out of it now. They'd darn well better ... working with XP Home, SP1 made it impossible to even *use* the better antivirus stuff ... so I had to download the ISO for SP3, get that burned (thanks to my son) and install XP SP3 so I could finish cleanup ... no fun. 
I've decided I'd rather work with hardware than software!! <sigh>

None of the virus, spyware, adware cleaners were able to clean it-out.

What finally got it out of there is the brand-new ComboFix.exe
