Naah Ron, in the UK you end up on the welfare state, and thanks to our
immigration policy, even pharmacists are welcome to arrive here and
claim the benefits!

(Tongue in cheek about pahrmac -- framac --pharmacickle -- Oh b*gger
it, chemists as we call them still! 8<]]

"Boots the Pharmacist" doesn't quite have the same ring to a Brit as
does "Boots the Chemists" Mind you, we do say things like, " I'll go
to the chemists and ask the pharmacist for advice"

The great British NHS [National Health Service] is now pretty well
stretched out and has finally decided that all the training pharmacists
have to go through is wasted if all they do is count out pills, so we
are now encouraged to go to the pharmacy for a consultation for "minor
ailments", chemists shops now have small consulting rooms where you can
go to ask about things like athlete's foot, skin rashes and etc. The
pharmacist will check and do even simple standard tests before
decidiing to either prescribe or send you off to your GP with a note or
phone an appointment for you.

Remains to be seen if this will improve things for minor stuff or not!
You are encouraged to use the same pharmacy as much as possible so that
there are records there of any meds you are already on, and nowadays
most GP surgeries in fact send your prescription direct to the phramacy
of your choice and you collect direct from there, some pharmacies
deliver, especially to housebound or disabled patients.)

e~gards
to you all

Mel

Struggling on and getting back all the money I paid into the NHS when
I was working! VBG 8<))
