But IMO, there should be no need to have more than one OS, and if I
would have to choose one, I would use only DOS. I am not happy with
having to run Linux for the purposes I need it for, and I cannot say I
am enjoying the Linux experience. That, of course, is due to the fact
that I have already been using DR-DOS before, so I always compare every
other OS to it.
I feel the exact same way about cars. There should only be one.
Actually, for every functional thing there should only be a need for
one; the best one. But that's theory. And in practice it's so very
nice to have lots to chose from and experiment with. I use a different
OS about every couple of days just for the change. I'm also one of
those guys who takes a different route to work to mix it up a bit. I'm
working on my OS comparison grid. When I'm done I'll post it so you
guys can flame me :) No, so you guys can help me where I've mis
represented something due to my lack of knowledge about a given OS.
The grid will have:
IBM Mainframe(ispf), SunOS, Mac OS X, windowsXP, Mandriva Linux, Kubuntu
Linux, C64, and a couple more but I'm late for work.
