I don't know.

It sure would be good to know the answer to that question.

If nobody is still writing new DOS viruses, then all of us who have
"DOS-only" machines could feel secure by running just a very old
DOS-based anti-virus program having virus definition files which
were last updated as of the date when the last "new" DOS virus was
detected.

Also it would be nice if some anti-virus company which offers a
DOS-based anti-virus program would offer some special virus
definition files for detecting only DOS viruses for the benefit
of those who have "DOS-only" operating systems. We don't have to
worry about any Window$ viruses being on our computers because
those kinds of viruses can't run on our computers. An anti-virus
program that is looking only for DOS viruses could scan a hard
hard drive much more quickly than one that is looking also for all
the Windows viruses.
