[arachne] Re: New Version of F-Prot for DOS

Hi Sam!

F-Prot for DOS is the only one I use much of, though I do have a DOS
scanner from the Norton Antivirus package, NAVDX, which I have
found a method of updating by hand. As for new viruses which target
DOS, these are thankfully extremely rare. For the most part, DOS and
Win3X have been left alone. That's a "good thing" as far as I'm concerned!
IIRC, most antivirus software does have some "emergency boot scanner"
that the companies recommend placing on emergency boot disks and
recovery disks...such as NAVDX. However, NAVDX's definition files
have grown quite large in comparison to F-Prot, so I normally use
F-Prot as my "startup" scanner for boot and file infectors.
