You're thinking of maybe a TSR that you could invoke at a keypress?
Unfortunately that would alter the memory allocation just by it being
there.
The only thing that wouldn't do that would be to chop into the m'board
and add a hardware dump circuit. I saw that done once on a smaller
computer with only 4k of RAM. I wouldn't like to try it on anything
bigger...
