I'm clear up in Illinois and we got pounded with heavy rain for days.
Lots of flooding. Quite a few around town boating to work and or home.
We're used to 70 mile an hour winds around here in the flatlands, no
biggie, we always have limbs coming down. Only one night of tornados,
and heavy lightning, no sideways rain, just lots kept coming. I can't
imagine what it's like for those poor folk down south. They need help.

I don't play a lot of fancy guitar. I don't want to play it.
The kind of guitar I want to play is mean, mean licks.

Hello all ...

If you've seen what 'tropical depression Ike' did to the mid-west USA, you might have an idea of how I have been distracted. Discs arrived Saturday last, but I have yet to even pull them from packaging. My dau is one of the half-million plus customers who *still* have no electricity. I am one of the lucky few who *does* have electricity; not even everyone in this small town, nor within a 4 block square area has power yet. Worst thing happening is that people with little to spare $$$ wise are having hundreds of dollars of food spoil ... neighbor who works hard to buy half a beeve for freezer has no power. And I no longer have room in my freezer compartment of side-by-side fridge, cuz dau brought all her frozen stuff over yesterday. I have my fingers crossed that the food bank a block down the street has power; they also have frozen food there.

Started tackling yard cleanup last night, after going to hardware store for tools. Got lucky here in that none of my three (personal) trees were twisted off despite winds measured at speeds of 78mph (hurricane force) and higher here in town and out at local private air strip. Even the killer-limb-dropper-tree of landlord's kept all its major components intact ... probably because I moved both my vehicles across the street to be clear of killer-tree's drop zone. <G>

I'm sitting here debating if I want to get dressed yet, as dogs will then demand an outing ... and once done with them I have no excuse for not continuing yard work. Muscles sore; glad I bought new glove that fit.

Take care ...

Oh ... anyone else in the strike zone of Ike, please let us know you're OK. Son has one friend who lived at Baytown NE of Galveston; last time he cleared out to Houston, but Houston caught hell and cell towers stopped working and everyone is worried about friends from Gulf coast and inland who haven't checked in. So kindly remove yourself from the worry list. ;)
