that would be the version 7.03. It is still available both for
download and for sale, has no problems whatsoever with any software I
am using, and except for its EMM386, which you should replace with
either QEMM or another memory manager unless you need Multitasking, it
is as bug-free as one can expect of any DOS. I have been using it
since 1998, and it did not give me any trouble in this time. The only
thing that one might regard as a problem nowadays is lack of FAT32
support in the kernel; it needs an external driver to access FAT32
drives and thus cannot boot from them. If you need that feature, you
would have to install the Enhanced DR-DOS kernel upgrade from my
website, which has FAT32 and large disk support in the kernel but
might not be as rock-solid in terms of stability as v7.03.
