Yes, that is how I have always done it so far.

I didn't find time to do it with 1.89 and 1.90, so for the time
being I'm still using 1.87.

With some of the stuff I have customized, I can't remember how I
did it.

Yes, I know I should have taken notes of exactly what I did at
the time, but if I did I can't remember where I saved them....

And I have saved several APMs, but no idea what they are supposed
to do, in most cases.

So it looks like I must go to a bare-bones 1.90 if I want to upgrade,
then work up slowly from there.
