On April 1st, no fooling, I replied to Ron Clarke on "arachne@xxxxxxxxxxxxx"
on subject "Re: Attempting to scroll right results in crashing my computer":

This problem is now solved. I did not even have to install a real mouse!
I just downloaded the FreeDos Balder10 distro recommended by Roberto in a
post he made to "arachne@xxxxxxxxxxxxx" on subject "Re: FreeDos diskette".
That distro contains CuteMouse, version 1.9.1 alpha [FreeDos].
That version of the CuteMouse driver works for recognizing and activating the
"non-real" mouse on my Dell laptop.
I am now very happily running Arachne with a "non-real" mouse on my Dell
laptop in real DOS mode.
