you regard X-Windows as a different OS? I think it is just an
application running on top of Linux, isn't it?
No, just poking fun at microsoft(it's the one that has the 2 OSs). And
pointing out that with *nix if you want console only you needn't install
the gui. So, I have my OLD machine(486) running with no gui and my new
machines I have the gui. And my hw that's supported on my 486 is still
supported on the new stuff.
