There is no plan. People are just doing things. Glenn G. hunted
up a list with a functioning digest mode because some people
want a digest. So now we have two lists and no clear distinction
between the two. He started arachne@xxxxxxxxxxxxx as a general
purpose Arachne list.
Mel, who started the Arachne4DOS list, is away in Spain until
the Christmas holidays. Until then I'm going to consider this
list as merely a possible alternative.
We need input from Arachne fans as to what they want.

The admin of this list could monitor and warn people about off-topic
wanderings. Arachne4DOS could remain open to whatever.

But some people object to that procedure because it makes it hard
to follow a thread consistently! I think that the subject should
reflect the nature of the actual message and should be changed
whenever needed because of the changed subject.
People need to speak up about what they want or don't want.
And we need some time to sort things out.
