Hello All,
A few years ago I made a diskette for FreeDos on a bootable diskette,
based on btfd100.zip. The floppy makes a virtual ram disk.
Such a bootable diskette should covert ANY computer into a DOS machine
simply by inserting the diskette into the A:\drive and than boot the
machine.
Although the machines I often use are all fitted with DOS I tested this
on my desk computer (PENTIUM III) and it worked.
But... that machine died from various hardware deseases and I bought
another one and now the FreeDos diskette does not run as expected.
Invalid Opcode at: 9FC0 9FC0 0246 7E83 etc, etc.
Error reading from drive A: DOS area: general failure
Abort, Ignore, Retry, Fail
Curious I inserted the diskette in two other computers, laptops:
Compaq Pentium I and Toshiba T2000... same bad results.
Did anyone of you encounter this problem and is there a solution?
A solution with whatever FREE DOS running on any computer without
disturbing the original settings on that computer... so on a ram-disk
and bootable from a floppy or CD.
Regards, Bastiaan
