That would be something to see...Firefox for DOS! I once suggested to Opera
that they consider such a move, back when my license for Opera was $39.95..the
reply was basically the "need did not justify the investment". Oh well...
I don't think I'll hold my breath waiting on "DOSFox", though since Mozilla is
open source, if someone had the time, skill and energy it could be a
possibility, very remote, not probable, but possible.

Then maybe most of the allegedly 20 million Linux users are in fact
Google sub processor nodes. That might explain why companies like Loki
Games failed miserably when they tried to sell entertainment software
to them. ;-)
Linux might have had a good chance if it would have been released ten
years earlier. But then, I also have Linux installed, and I am a DOS
user. So perhaps it is only the old problem that everyone who is
*also* using Linux counts as a Linux user, but only someone who is
*only* using DOS counts as a DOS user.
But in my opinion, what is really being counted is neither users nor
OSes but web browsers. That makes sense, since there is no reliable
way to determine the OS someone is using when he is not online, and
the estimated number of Arachne users is indeed very low. Even of the
visitors of my site which is probably only used by people who are
really interested in DOS, 99.9% use a Windows-based browser.
It might be interesting to see how it would affect the numbers if
Firefox would be ported to DOS. Not that I think that would be likely
to happen since everyone seems to be happy surfing the 'net using
Windows.

Udo
