You guys are definitely right, if the screen isn't black,
it MUST be windows. Windows is synonymous with computer
to most people. Many times when I've been asked what
version I'm using or whatever, and I say I don't use
windows on my computer, I get a "Huh? What else is there?".

Most people just assume a black screen HAS to be DOS!

That is funny indeed. I infer that if those people could see Enhanced
DR-DOS with its user-selectable screen colours boot, they would
probably assume that it is *not* DOS what they see. ;-)
Screen colours are user-selectable in most DOS.
I wonder what they would think about a graphical DOS application like
Arachne or Ghostwriter. They'd probably think the computer is running
Windows.
I suspect that "most" users would assume that any computer is running Windows,
regardless of the software on the screen. For "most" people, that is a non-question.
Except the commandline prompt, of course.
