Some months ago, I installed CLIPSAVE.DGI and CLIPOVER.DGI to
save the contents of the clipboard, as described by GlennMcc some
months ago.
Thay have proven to be very handy features.
But some reason that wasn't apparent, CLIPSAVE stopped working
today.
I opened MIME.CFG and checked the line calling it. The line
looked alright, but I altered the message at the end from
"clipboard saved" to "clipboard added to clipsave.txt".
I then restarted Arachne and tried calling the DGI. The message I
saw on the screen was the old one "clipboard saved", not the
altered version.
And when I checked the CLIPSAVE.TXT file, the contents of
CLIP.TMP had _NOT_ been added to it.
I checked my user programmable hotkeys and noticed that Shift-F6
was "file://clipsave.dgi" and Shift-F7 was "file://clipover.dgi"
When I altered these to "file:clipsave.dgi" and
"file:clipover.dgi" they both worked properly, with the revised
message displayed on the screen.
So my questions are:
1. What is the difference between "file:abcdef.dgi" and
"file://abcdef.dgi". Why do they work differently?
2. what was Arachne using when I called "file://clipsave.dgi"?
Certainly it was _not_ what was in the MIME.CFG file.
3. Since QUICKPAD.TXT is the default that always comes up with
Ctrl-R or F3 to paste into an open document, would it be
possible to save the CLIP.TMP to QUICKPAD.TXT instead of
CLIPSAVE.TXT? What are the pros and cons of doing this?
4. Where can I find explained the various protocols that I can
use in the user-defined hotkeys, Shift-F1 to Shift-F10?
