[arachne] Can't quit external editor

Damn! Damn and Blast! Arachne is doing it again!!!

Some time ago, I disabled Arachne's external editor because it was
putting me in a loop. Then for some reason it stopped. Now it's doing it
again!

The situation is this:

I was online and I wished to see the HTML code in a page I was viewing.
I pressed F6 and looked at it. I pressed F2 to return to the screen.

I then decided that I wanted to edit it, and I pressed F4. This took me
to the external editor (Q.EXE), but I decided not to edit the page at
this time. I pressed Alt-X to exit the editor and very briefly I saw the
screen start to re-appear, but I was taken to the external editor again.

I pressed Alt-X to quit and went round the loop again. And again. And
again.

Eventually I pressed Ctrl-Alt-Del to reboot, and restarted arachne with
the commandline parameter -R to reconnect.

The only thing that I have changed recently are the settings for animated
GIFs...
XMS4allGIFs 1024    was 4096
XMS4oneGIF 270000   was 1040000

Could this have a bearing on it? It seems unlikely but.....

Please also note the other problem that I used to have with F4
autodialling when autodial and external editor were enabled at the same
time, which I stopped by disabling autodial.

Are these faults related? Darned if I know....
