The browser stats on BW were split into four sections: http://www.drdosprojects.de/bwstats.htm The one I have uploaded earlier shows the section A-M, excluding Microsoft and Netscape browsers, so you could call it one of the two "other browsers sections", the other one being N-Z. Alas, I lost the ranking page itself in a harddisk crash, so I cannot show it, but I remember that IE had almost 90%, Netscape followed with several percent, then Opera with around 2% and Arachne with 0.4%. I have also included a snapshot of the news page on BW on that day: http://www.drdosprojects.de/bwnews.htm > Given the fact we had this same fight before(or it's just deja vu?) I > think a > little too much effort has been wasted fighting over the > validity of > browserwatch stats and the sanity of someone who puts too > much stock into them. Tell that the person on this list who takes every chance to pick a fight with me just about anything. I only mentioned these stats (again) since they show that only a meager 0.4% share was necessary for Arachne to become #4 on that list, so even as a niche browser Arachne has the potential to become somewhat famous. I definetely don't like the stance of some people on this list who claim that even with significant efforts put into the development of Arachne, it would not matter. And BTW, since Mr GG Jr also doubts the numbers for the Amiga browsers, the Amiga even has its own working port of Mozilla, which is something that the PC has never achieved. Perhaps if the DOS users would spend only half the time they waste on lamenting over the software industry ignoring them on writing their own software instead, we would have all the things that the Amiga users enjoy.
