Udo...
Sheesh...Arachne, much as we love it, was NEVER ranked 4th at Browserwatch.
It
was only mentioned there once that I remember, something to the effect of an
"intriguing" project. Furthermore, Browserwatch was not what you would call a
"heavily trafficked site", hence its' demise. Lynx, in all its incarnations,
was always ranked above Arachne. If...IF...you can find and post actual
Browserwatch statistics to show otherwise, then my statements are just as
valid. No need to dredge that murky muck again.
You call me a liar? It seems like our pharmacist should rather take his
own medicine.
Arachne *did* have a 0.4% share at one time on Browserwatch, which is
more than I have ever seen for Lynx. Not as much as Opera which had
around 2%, but at least it was the fourth rank.
I have uploaded a snapshot of the stats page that I saved on Oct 9th
2001: http://www.drdosprojects.de/bwatch.htm
And don't call anybody a liar again unless you can prove it! >:-(
Udo
Udo,
How do you even read this page? Are the numbers supposed to add up to
100%? And I do remember that site wasn't useful for any real stats.
Not much more useful than me tallying up the same stats for my friends.
But I'm curious how to read that page anyway.
The way I read that page is Arachne was number 1.
Given the fact we had this same fight before(or it's just deja vu?) I
think a little too much effort has been wasted fighting over the
validity of browserwatch stats and the sanity of someone who puts too
much stock into them.
