Thanks for the reply, Ron, and thanks for undertaking the daring adventure
for me to try out a web page that crashes my computer.

I am happy to hear that you had no major problems with that web page.

Perhaps the reason why you did not encounter problems with it is that
you are running Arachne in real mode, and not in a DOS box under Windows.

With my Dell laptop, with which I am running Arachne nowadays, I have to run
her in a DOS box under Windows if I want to use a mouse with Arachne

My laptop doesn't have a real mouse. It just has a touch-sensitive pad and
some buttons as integral components mounted in front of the keyboard and
intended to replace the functions of a real mouse. Those components become
active only under Windows. I have tried to make them work by installing
the cute mouse driver while in real DOS mode. The cute mouse driver will
not activate those components. Does anyone here know of a DOS-based driver
that will activate those components?

My laptop has a PS/2 port where I can plug in an external mouse, but I have
not yet tried out using my laptop with a real mouse. I will conduct that
experiment soon. If I can get my laptop computer to recognize a real mouse
when in real mode, then I will try out the problem web page again while
running Arachne in real mode. Also I will report my results to the list.
