Ron,
When I used SW7.1 I used a one line libvga.config with just
---------------

---------------
in it. I was using a S3 card. Try this libvga.config.
----------------
mouse PS2

chipset VESA

I did that, and it seems to have worked OK. But it is not an option
with my main Linux, which is based on SW7.1 but is much tweaked. Cannot
use /etc/vga/libvga.config because it isn't there. I am using an S3
driver setup because I need it for other things. As it is, I almost
totalled that distro farkling around with libraries - it makes a very
sick feeling when your main distro suddenly doesn't even boot because the
libraries have become mis-matched.

Arachne for Linux is still a curiosity as far as I can see. There is
a long road ahead, but at least it is a start. And for that, I am very
grateful. :)

Regards,
       Ron
