It's very nice to see all the interest in Glenn's latest effort.
But I'm sticking to my bet that the original linux code is simply too
broken to work. As for me, it seems that one of the biggest hurdles
to doing anything is the graphics library, so just for my own
amusement, (no one else will be interested) I've started dismantling it,
and moving the guts directly
into the core sources. So far, even without opimizing anything, I've
gotten up to 240K free memory. This opperation makes it very clear
which parts of the old .lib are involved in which core functions,
thus making it much easier to do whatever surgery would be needed
when moving to a different graphics system. Once optimized, the whole
show could yield big improvements in performance and memory.
