Sorry if I'm posting badly, it seems my spambox was
catching my own posts. You can leave /dev/mouse as I
think that's where your device is /dev/input/mice, I
could be wrong tho. Symlinks have to be manually deleted.
Check /etc/vga/libvga.config and see if you have 'mouse'
set at-
mouse PS2
or
mouse IMPS2
One of those should let it work in Arachne.

I don't play a lot of fancy guitar. I don't want to play it.
The kind of guitar I want to play is mean, mean licks.

Hey, Michael Your problem maybe the fact you have no /dev/mouse in your /dev directory. You need to symlink the device your mouse is using to /dev/mouse. I noticed you have several possibilities that your system maybe using. On my system /dev/mouse is linked to /dev/input/mice. Yours could be using that or /dev/psaux or /dev/input/mouse0 1 2 or 3. Even something else. If you could post your xorg.conf file, I may be able to figure out what device driver your system is using.Ok. Here is my /etc/X11/xorg.conf: http://www.nopaste.com/p/aJLk4fs5mIf nothing else, a tedious but possibly effective way to get it working would be to symlink each one in turn to find out which is being used, but that would be a last resort. Try this command. #>ln -s /dev/psaux /dev/mouse Then see if it works, there are only so many devices for a PS2 mouse. RobThis made the installer happy, but mouse didn't work. I did also test ln -s /dev/input/mice /dev/mouse installer ok, mouse no function. How long the symlinks are active? Until reboot or until manual deletion? Do I need to delete the symlinks and how? regards, -mr Arachne at FreeLists -- Arachne, The Premier GPL Web Browser/Suite for DOS --
