Some time ago, before Yahoo had their js or security whatsis set up, I
selected "my.yahoo.com" as my home page and configured it to display the news
and other information that I cared to see on my home page. I could "sign in"
and "sign out" with impunity. If I "signed out," Yahoo would remove their
cookie from my cookie file. I got tired of getting the "Welcome, Guest"
screen each time and "signing in" in order to get the screen I wanted, so I
stopped, "signing out."
When I upgraded to some new version of Arachne, I forgot to copy my cookie
file and got the "Welcome, Guest," screen. Trying to "sign in" gave me the
run around that I have described. For some reason or another, I used the
older version of Arachne to access the web and got the "Welcome Back Roger,"
screen that had the news that I wanted to see. It was then that I remembered
that I had not copied the old cookie file.
My Arachne.cfg does/did have HTTPS2HTTP Yes, which is why I was not getting
https://~~~ on the status line. I changed that to "No" and got "https://~~~
on the status line (and in the URL window). I manually deleted the "s" and
it did not affect the runaround that I got. I brought up the source page,
searched for "https:" and changed that to "http:" (2 places) and it did not
affect the runaround. I tried signing in as another user, and got the same
runaround when I entered an new password and "verified" it.
I can read the messages on the ArachneDevelopment group site (23 as of last
night) and see that there are only 7 members of the ArachneDevelopment
group. However, not being a member of the group, I do not receive the
messages as e-mail.

I do not click on the E-mail link, and I have not experienced any lockup with
Yahoo, either on the My.Yahoo.com page or the ArachneDevelopment group page.
I am using M$-DOS 5.0 on one machine and 6.22 on another and they both behave
the same.

I do so desire to join the ArachneDevelopment group, which is what I have
been trying to do since December 9th, when you announced the creation of the
group on Yahoo.
Incidently, if I go to "http://groups.yahoo.com" ---> web browsers, and
search for Arachne, it comes up with "Not found."
