There are very many DOS programs that will run under Windows. Most of
the stuff I write (and sell) runs quite happily under Windows, up to and
including XP.
But I have no idea how to write stuff FOR Windows, and probably never
will. I believe that one needs to know how to use all those
Windows-specific .dlls and sh*t ! And my stuff does not even look like
Windows - it doesn't need to.
Windows uses either the underlying DOS or a DOS-emulator, and the use
of such stuff looks pretty seamless to the average click-and-drooler.
But I would be offended indeed if anyone called them Windows programs.
