Yep, that's it.  I know I had bookmarked the ftp site on a very 
old DOS-only P166 computer, the one I had quit using after I got 
equipped with DSL.  I might start using that computer again if 
I can find an ethernet card for it that will work with a DOS 
driver.

I remember how things were back in the good old days before the
obstinate new sysop took over the SIMTEL archives.  We used to 
be able to simply point our Arachne Browser to 
"http://www.simtel.net"; and use that web site to search for and 
to download files.

Also I remember our finding out about how the obstinate new 
sysop was searching and snooping around in several of the DOS 
users' mailing lists to read about all the criticisms the DOS 
users were saying about him.  When we found out about that we 
agreed to code-name "simtel" as its backwards spelling, being 
"letmis", so as to cause his search engine to fail to return any 
hits on criticisms about the new way he was running the web site.   
He was the kind of guy who could not tolerate being talked about 
unless one were agreeing with all the points we was trying to 
make about how smart he thinks he is.
