Inresponse to my request for assistance with the problem of my alternate
editor not getting my message from there into insight's outbox for
emailing, Ray Andrews said:

"So I think something is very busted, I'd recommend temporarily REMing
the lines in arachne.bat that delete $rorua$bat, then try editing an
email and then quit and take a look at the $routa$.bat that would have
been created as your external editor was used."
"It should give an idea what's wrong."
I did so, and the resulting $roura$.bat file resulting was as follows:

Does this seem to have any functional meaning to any of the members of
the forum who are more knowledgeable about these arcane matters than I?
I would certainly like to get my VDE editor to become a welcome partner
in composing and sending insight email.
