Only thing I can add is that netmask (part of router use) also appears to be default value of 255.255.255.0.
You also might want to access your router and see what you get as far as values and setup availability of *non*standard non-default values if you like extra security. How? Use the actual address 192.168.0.1 instead of any http:// value (no DNS required; you have actual physical address) to log in to router. There you should be able to verify all the values it is set up for.

This worked in Windows but I think the Nameserver number of the modem/router does not change by the OS of the computer. 
So it seems the number Glenn suggested is right. 192.168.0.1

I also tried 'properties' in Windows on the connection/ethernetcard.
Results:
Etherport 4
Physical Address 00:e4:4c:40:e8:96
IP Address Assigment: DHCP
IP Address: 192.168.1.65
Assign public IP address of a connection did return: 192.168.0.1 >> private IP address, not usable on the internet
So it seems that the address assigned to the machine could be 192.168.1.65. I tried this and 192.168.1.100 but no difference
Question: Is it possible that there is no IP address of the router since router and modem are build together?
Question: The dial in section is no longer used but there is the username and password. The username at the @ level changed. Where to mention it?
Question: I still have to dial in... that means to start the connection. How to do this? Connecting another machine to the internet via the same modem, but (different port on the router) did not function.
Wheter the ADSL connection is activated or not by the other computer... Arachne is and keeps: Asking domain server for pop.hetnet.nl or any other server.
Remark: Using windows on both machines... they see each other and networking is possible. Using one machine with DOS the other machine is not seen on the router, with or without Arachne.

Nope.... that is the MAC address of the NIC card.

You need to use the IP address which is assigned
to that computer by the router.


gateway ... unknown??


The gateway is the IP address of your router.
nameserver ... at the back of the modem/router: MODEM ACCESS CODE 1253711353 

The nameserver is the IP address of the ADSL modem.

In my case.....
IP_Address 192.168.1.100 ;IP address assigned to this machine by my router 

Gateway 192.168.1.1     ;IP address of my router

NamServer 192.168.0.1   ;IP address of my ADSL modem

Since most ADSL modems and most routers are setup with factory defaults
that match even between brands & models......

There is a very good chance that your numbers will be exactly the same
as mine.

As you may have noticed from the numbers that Constant posted.....

They are almost the same as mine.

The only number that was different was the gateway/ip of router

192.168.1.1 vs 192.168.2.1

Now as to the IP address assigned to each machine connected to the router. 

Most routers begin assigning IP addresses at 192.168.1.100

Therefore the 1st machine connected will be at IP 192.168.1.100
the 2nd will be at 192.168.1.101 , the 3rd at 192.168.1.102 and so-on.

Most routers seem to be setup to have their own IP address as
either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1

Now as to the modem IP/nameserver...
Most ADSL modems seem to be setup with a default IP address of 192.168.0.1 

Therefore there is a very good chance that yours is the same as mine.
