Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club!
Hello,
It appears that 250free.com breaks down like this:
Free hosting:
250MB storage
250MB bandwidth/month
2MB individual file size limit
Ad banners
subdomain (i.e. arachne.250free.com)
Platinum hosting (starting @ $3.95/month):
250MB storage
2000MB bandwidth/month
20MB individual file size limit
no ad banners
host up to 10 domain names under the account
PlatinumPlus hosting (couldn't find pricing):
500MB storage
50MB file size limit
The reasonable use section of the terms & conditions seems to refer to
people who want to use 250free.com solely as "storage for MP3's,
pictures, movies or program files", but the wording does not appear to
exclude purposes such as hosting an arachne web site, which also has a
download available.
My 2 cents: I still think that sourceforge.net is *the best* place to
host arachne/development/mailing list/bug tracking/etc., assuming we
have all the sources for every library. For those who mistakenly think
Arachne users cannot function on sourceforge.net, read this:
Users do not need a sourceforge account (which requires the SSL & js
crap....i.e. something besides Arachne) to download files, submit bugs,
take part in the mailing list, request features, request support, etc.
I guess I'll go through the motions of submitting a project & see if
they accept it. If so, then yea! If not, it'll probably be b/c of the
graphics library, which is a whole different discussion...
may this reach you warm
