The aim is that the 2DoList file will be available to all on an ftp
server (the development ftp site would be a logical choice, provided
yahoo problems don't get in the way)
I propose that the format for the file should be a spreadsheet. I
guess most people will have software. Over time the 2dolist should
grow. A spreadsheet makes it easier to, for example: remove completed
items to contain the size; copy items with a particular release
version for inclusion in release documentation; add a new column etc.

Which spreadsheet format? Preferably fairly old to give DOS apps a
chance. Excel might not be popular?

I propose to use Lotus123 V5 but write in the older .wk1 format. I
tested this and at least for the proposed simple table with plain text
I was able to read a file in:
- DOS shareware prog AsEasyAs (1996 vintage)
- Excel versions 4 and 7
and of course Lotus123

If this would cause a lot of problems to folks, a secondary file might
be provided in plain text format (an output option of the spreadsheet
software).

Sample files are attached, based mainly on info taken from the last
few days postings. I don't propose to keep doing this. A better result
should be obtained by proposers sending email to featus@xxxxxxxxxxxx
