Have you looked at the header of one of these e-mails in "raw" form?
Some e-mails are sent with the subject line encoded, presumably to
make it more difficult to apply spam filters.  E-mail clients such
as Messenger Pro decode such lines prior to display, so you might
not be aware that they had been encoded.
