[analogorgans] Re: Zimblestern

Since the turntable spins...one runs the risk of "throwing off" the bells as
they are fairly heavy. Instead, consider mounting the bells just off the edge
of the turntable, and instead, mount just the striker on the turntable. That
way you only have one light-weight object to "mount" to the spinining table.
Just a suggestion.

Over the years I've heard of several who started with an old turntable as the
platform for a home made z/stern. Mounting the bells on that, with the striker
off to the side would seem to work well.

The first time my wife heard a z/stern in a concert she put her hand up in
the shape of a phone (thumb/little finger outstretched), leaned over to me and
said, "Hello."

  Merry Christmas everyone.

Anyone here ever built their own zimblestern?

Any ideas on how to start? I am thinking of putting together a 9 bell and
interfacing it with my Rodgers 925

  Thank you
