Members and Friends of Austin Mennonite Church

I pray you have within your spirit a sense of the resolve that led Jesus to follow faithfully the pathway that opened before him.

This next fifth Sunday of Lent, pastor candidate Lee Lever and his spouse Terri will be visiting our community.  Lee has crafted a sermon--'Waking Up to the Smell: A Journey to Life'-- that will not only enlighten us with the words of scripture (Ezekiel 37:1-14; John 11:1-4, 32-44; Romans 8:6-11) but also reveal something of his personal spiritual journey.  I pray you will be able to share in this important and engaging experience both for Lee and Terri and for our congregation.

Plan to bring your lunch to church with you to share with the others following our worship together.

The Open Forum Group meeting in Annex 1, discussing Richard Foster’s book, Celebration of Discipline.

 

The Sanctuary Group meeting in back of the main building  continues a series discussion of creation, evolution, religion and science, led by Steve Friesen.

 

Sunday, April 10  We welcome Pastor Candidate Lee Lever and his spouse Terri to our community.   Lee will bring the sermon during worship, and we will share a pot-luck dinner afterward.   

 

Saturday, April 16  CDC Yard Sale  Begin collecting items for the sale and planning to be present to celebrate this opportunity of gift giving and receiving.

 

Sunday, April 17  Congregational meeting following worship to discuss and vote whether to call Pastor Candidate Lee Lever.

 

Sunday, April 17  Fellowship appreciation picnic 4p in Mueller Park for Laura and Garland.  Hotdogs and bottled water provided.  Please bring salads, chips, snacks, desserts to share, and other drinks for yourself.ot dogs and bottled water provided.  Please broing    

 

Thursday, April 21 The Women of the Church will meet in Laura’s home, 2708 Silverway Dr (NW Austin), 7-9p.  Bring snacks and conversation to share.
