Members and Friends of Austin Mennonite Church I pray you are encouraged and finding many reasons to give thanks as you journey on in faith. All of us have the capacity to determine how some resources will be used. Whether we have an abundance or a meager amount of wealth, each one of us can decide how we will use these possessions, what we will exchange for them. And we know that these valuable assets will be distributed eventually, whether or not we make the conscious choice to decide in what way this will be done. During our time in the earth we can have an influence on how our resources will be dispersed. After we are gone from the earth, someone else will make that decision in our absence. So intentionally reflecting on this procedure is important. There are many alternatives available to us, many possibilities for us to invest in, each one with a particular field of impact. And perhaps it is this ‘field of impact’ that is the most influential in causing us to decide where we will choose to direct our resources. Think for a moment: at the end of your days, what kind of pattern of spending that you can employ will bring you the most satisfaction, will cause you to feel the most fulfillment? What will be the practice and result that you would most want to have tried for? Whatever the answer, the time to begin this practice is now. The texts we will consider this next Sunday are Amos 6:1a, 4-7; Luke 16:19-31; and 1 Timothy 6:6-19. Thoughts prompted by these passages will compose the sermon, 'Knowing where to shop.' Announcements and the Worship Schedule for next sunday follow below. May it go well with you. Sincerely, Garland Robertson ANNOUNCEMENTS Austin Mennonite
