[amc] 'Torture is wrong' campaign request

Thank you for your discussion of the proposed 'Torture is wrong' campaign
and our invitation to participate in it.  As you have noted, all the
responses affirm our historical position that torture is wrong, however
almost all were uncomfortable with displaying the banner, not because of
what the banner states but because of what it does not say.  I have
initially informed the organizer that we will probably not participate in
the campaign because we wish to promote our distinctive witness that
clarifies, even magnifies our position of condemning the comprehensive
injustice associated with any form of  violence.  The discussion continues,
and I encourage you to share you opinions if you have a feeling/thought
about this and have not thus far contributed it.
