Hello Edna, I will also be attending the workshop in Plano, Tx. I'm very interested in taking the Amaya factory tour. I'm sure the Melco staff will be able to answer all your software upgrade questions at that time. Since you're new to the Amaya and software, it would do you good if you get a chance to play around with the software as much as possible prior to the class. Know that this workshop is only one day for Design Shop and one day for Amaya OS and some machine maintenance. This might be considered an excellent class to go along with the training one receives in Denver or say on site from a certified trainer. I believe official training for both Melco programs at the training facility are 5 days long. I look forward to meeting you in person and hope to answer any questions you might have. Also, I too have a new wide screen laptop that distorts programs such as designshop. I have heard there are settings that one can adjust to set up like a standard screen but I haven't really looked into it. Just remember, even if it looks distorted on the screen, the design should sew out fine after digitizing. That is unless you are digitizing from scratch (without graphics). I just got my Amaya with the Design Shop Pro+ 4 weeks ago. I've had the tech here in the Houston area over twice to work out some kinks, I think it's going to be ok now. I won't be able to check it out for a few days yet as I just had shoulder surgery Friday and can't move my arm much yet. I was wondering if anyone on this list will be attending the 2 day workshop in Plano, TX February 9 & 10? I am really hoping my shoulder will be good by then to make the trip, it's a short distance, but. BTW, have any of you received the 2005 version of the software, and if so, did they just mail it? I was told that since I purchased so late in the year, I would be getting the 2005 version free, but have not received anything yet. I was thinking they would ship purchased upgrades before shipping free ones? Also wondering if I will get it before the workshop. Thanks so much, I'm looking forward to learning a lot from this list!
