Hi, Edna. I've played around with Free Standing Lace (fsl). Used white bobbins. 
I did not digitize the designs myself, but used purchased designs.  I noticed 
these designs are digitized with very minimal trims. If you are digitizing 
yourself, I would suggest digitizing for minimal trims.  I turned Miss Amaya 
wayyyyy down in speed as a precaution, used 2 layers of vilene in the hoop and 
put my fabric thickness to 1.  This was before I received my new s'wre with the 
auto thread feed. Next time I play, I will try auto feed.
